Wilfrid Arexis

At the age of 7 years he began to play Piano and Drums, then Bass at the age of twelve. At the age of 15 years, he was student of the trombonist, Jean-Pierre Mathieu, professor at the Conservatoire de Toulouse. He is more and more interested by Jazz music. After he took his trombonist diploma (D.E.), he is in charge of the Guy Lafitte Music School of Saint-Gaudens in France. He attend orchestration courses and workshops directed by Jeff Gilson, Glenn Ferris, Denis Badault et Roger Boutry. He played with Lou Bennett, Ted Curson, Phil Abraham, Philippe Renault, Jacques Bernard, Jean-Luc Amnestoy, l'Orchestre Santiago de Cuba, Rémi Vignolo, Sarrah Morrow,"Tonton" Christian Salut, François Raulin, Alain Cutat, André Beun, Emile Parisien, Fred Luzignan, 1ère Partie du Count Basie Orchestra, Andrew White, Horace Tapscott et Sonny Simons.

Main festivals : Fuites de Jazz, Festival de Tarbes, Festival de Foix, Festival de Marciac (off), Les Rencontres du Saxophone of Saint-Gaudens, Festival du Film muet of Anères, Guiness Jazz Cork Festival.

Involved in Master Classes : Festival de Foix in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
